The New Year Honours list celebrates New Zealanders who have done incredible mahi in their areas of expertise. In the latest awards, a very familiar sportsperson has been recognised – and she’s on her way to becoming a familiar face in the kiwi world too.
Congratulations to Olympian Lisa Carrington who has become one of New Zealand’s newest dames. Lisa recently joined the Save the Kiwi team as an ambassador and is supporting our holiday dog campaign by educating dog owners about the risks their furry friends could pose to one of New Zealand’s most iconic birds, the kiwi.
The 2022 New Year Honours list features a movie star, a prominent police officer, a survivor of the Christchurch mosque shootings who has taken his message of forgiveness and tolerance to the world, and another incredible sportsperson, Sophie Pascoe.
Congratulations to Dame Lisa for this wonderful – and well-deserved – recognition.
